How we met

How we met

Hi, Eden here! Curious to know a little of how Danica and I met, and how our paths eventually led us to create Fall & Always?

Danica and I both attended Whangarei Girls' High School in New Zealand. Even though we were at the same school, we didn’t really know each other at the time. I was a year ahead of Danica, so our paths didn’t cross.

In 2017, I decided to visit my old textiles teacher, Ms Pederson. I actually can't remember why I did, I mean I love her, but I had already been out of high school for three years by this point.

When I walked into Ms Pederson’s classroom, I found Danica there working on a sewing project for the local Fashion Awards. She was getting some guidance from Ms Pederson (who actually wins the awards every year), and we struck up a conversation. As our conversation flowed, I impulsively asked Danica if she’d like to move into my flat early the next year. To my delight, she said yes.

Danica and I became great friends and lived together in Auckland for three years while we attended university. She had the Mecca discount, I had the Città discount. We managed to fit in a fair amount of drinking, cheap meals, beach days, festivals, odd jobs, and late night assignments into those years. We also navigated the pandemic together, so we're built to last.

In 2021, Danica moved to Canada, and a year later, we both found ourselves relocating to the UK. Despite the distance, our friendship and shared vision remained strong. We continued to brainstorm and plan for our future endeavours, always aligned in our passion for beautiful, sustainable goods.

Now, one year later, Danica and I are once again living together, this time in England, continuing to work on Fall & Always. Our journey from high school acquaintances to bestie business partners has been nothing short of extraordinary.

Fall & Always reflects the essence of our journey—a testament to the power of friendship, collaboration, and the joy of creating spaces that feel like home.
